Director of Development

A Montana native, Bob Hickman first came to the Nashville area as an Air Force pilot in 1965. Bob, who joined The Mathews Company to pursue development and acquisition opportunities in 1996, has a reputation for ingenuity, persistence, and hard work. In fact, Bob, who is quick to mention that he "loves to get out and meet people," has persistently been working on a big project for years: He is building an airplane in his basement.

As director of development with The Mathews Company, Bob seeks new investment opportunities and initiates transactions that meet the firm's investment criteria. Recently, he played a lead role in the development and leasing of the 225,000-square-foot Commerce Center in downtown Nashville, the 100,000-square-foot FISI Madison Financial building, and the 43,000-square-foot Elm Hill Business Center.

A former commercial airline pilot, as well as a military pilot, Bob has more than 25 years in the real estate industry as a broker and developer. He received a bachelor's degree in real estate and accounting from Montana State University and is active in a variety of professional organizations, including the board of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties, Society of Industrial and Office Realtors, and Certified Commercial Investment Members (CCIM).
